MTV Presents Seventeen Magazine’s “Pretty Amazing” Contest

This MTV special follows five amazing young women as they come to New York to compete to be the cover model for Seventeen Magazine’s October 2011 issue. Out of 35,000 entrants, Seventeen selected five finalists because of their diverse and inspiring stories -- a racecar driver, a social activist, a fashion designer, a photographer, and a filmmaker. After a series of competitions, including a high profile photoshoot, one will land the cover of the magazine. Seventeen Editor in Chief, Ann Shoket will make the ultimate decision with the help of celebrity judges Miranda Cosgrove of iCarly and Jared Eng, founder of justjared.com.

Scion’s Take on the Machine

VIMBY’s original series, “Take on the Machine,” presented by Scion, pits five of the nation’s top hackerspaces—which are collectives of underground inventors, tinkerers and makers—against one another in a friendly competition. Hosted by Mitch Altman, the godfather of the American hackerspace movement, this colorful series laid out a challenge to reinvent an everyday household product to have a fun recreational purpose, while referencing a favorite movie.

This documentary series follows one year in the lives of some of NYC’s best b- boy dance crews. Meet Kid Glyde, Whorah, Invertebrate & Gravity - members of the legendary bboy crew, Dynamic Rockers, who are struggling to make their mark in the grueling, yet vibrant, NYC hip hop scene. As they team up with 5 Crew Dynasty, another NYC crew, they must find a way to meld the two groups and deal with their everyday lives and drama, while staying above the competition around the nation in a series of high profile jams.
